The Network Marketing Reveal

Here is a link to my supermarket

As the video said, this is not for everyone, I happened to be at a place in my life where I wanted to be the healthiest I could and these products work for me. During school, and my field work, I  brought my tiny blender and a shake and had my lunch every day with no muss or fuss. I did not have to worry about preparing a lunch or keeping it cold. I would throw  some ice cubes or frozen fruit in the blender before leaving and put it in the fridge when I arrived at school/work. Pretty easy. Like I said, it works for me.

When I was diagnosed with cancer, knowing how very important nutrition is in the fight against it, I was even more committed to the shakes and products. I added other products from Isagenix (nutritional cleanse, ionix  supreme, isagreens and isafruit), along with kale and parsley from my garden, pro-biotics, flax seed, hemp seed, and more. Down the hatch it went.

I had a VERY aggressive course of treatment; one that took its toll primarily on the digestive tract. I feel without the boost I gave it unknowingly the year before my diagnosis I might not be where I am today. I thank God every day for the serendipity that led me to these products.

I also follow The Medical Medium and try to eat as many superfoods as I can. We are what we eat. We are just a machine evolved to work on nutrients...not food per say...but nutrients and minerals found in food.

If I have piqued your interest and you feel you too need to make a change to feel better, lose weight, gain energy, there is a contact form in the right sidebar. Live healthy~live well.

P.S. Next week I begin my second twelve-week placement in occupational therapy field work after leaving last March. It's been a long journey back.  I may not get to writing blog posts with the added hours of work. I will try.

What Company Do I Work With?

Last week, I had a large number of inquiries asking me:
1) Why I did not name the network marketing company I work with.
2) The name of the network marketing company I work with.

I said I was going to be transparent and I will be, but let me be mysterious for one more day. Because when I tell you the name, the first thing most people will do is google it. Right? Especially if you have never heard of it. The top three hits will not be the company site, but "ads" from other sources with info about the products and company.

The first hit on my google search was:    Does (name of company) shakes work?

In this list, there are five MLM or network marketing companies, and yes the company I partner with is one of these. Looking through this list myself, to me, it is not an apples-apples comparison. One of the most notable differences to me is the number of calories and amount protein in each. What do you think?

What I like to tell people is that I love a bag of Lays potato chips. I mean I love them. Others might enjoy Cape Cod chips or some other brand local to where they live. To each their own. When I see something interesting at the supermarket, I try it. If I like it, I buy it again.

What I  have noticed with products from networking companies, is that people shop differently. They are much more tentative. I feel so terrible that some people have had a negative experience with this type of shopping. There are many reasons for this, and I understand completely.

It is a business, and if you have never been in business or sales, the skill level to successfully help a client may not be there in the beginning. It is often those 'newbies' who call their friends and family and don't fully 'vet' the need they might have for the products. But as we like to say, "Sharing is Caring," and that's how networking works, correct?

I am a believer in the business model of network marketing. I am also a believer in the products of my company. Tomorrow I will share my 'supermarket." with you. *Although I can't take credit for what follows (another partner in the company wrote it), it gives a unique view as to how it all works.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*I own a supermarket, I am a very proud and happy supermarket owner and here is my business model:

I market people to visit my supermarket and give them a good experience. I receive payment for service and a commission for food purchased.

The customer has a great experience, and they refer a friend to visit the supermarket. The customer gets paid for simply referring their friend to the service, and I get paid a commission on the food purchased as the supermarket owner.

The benefits of my business are that it is unlimited in size and there is no cap to how many people visit my supermarket; it could be 1 million at a time.

Benefits to customer:
Can purchase from home
30 day money back guarantee
Quality ingredients
Can have it paid for through networking :)

Benefits to me:
No lease
No staff
No overheads
No fixed costs
No food prep

No waste
No hidden expense
No sick leave/annual leave liability
No retail and distribution

There is a weirdness around my supermarket, but I love my online supermarket of customers, they are looking sexier, more toned, smiling more and glowing every day.... I think my supermarket will grow to thousands of customers as word keeps getting out.

My supermarket beats the toxic chemicals sold to children in aisle 7. And the five scoops of added sugar in Aisle 5, not to mention the false food 5-star rating in Aisle 9.

I love my job. Happiest supermarket owner in the world, because I am making a difference in my customer's life and making them feel better for a living.

Some people don't like my supermarket, but that's okay. That's what other shops are for.

Acceptance into Springfield College

Over the course of the year I spent taking Anatomy & Physiology, I looked into a few occupational therapy programs, but in the end only applied to Springfield College. I was in the process of applying to Bay Path College when I received my acceptance letter from Springfield.

Today, almost four years later, it seems the excitement I felt upon opening the acceptance letter was above and beyond. I ran around the house in pure glee. It felt like one of the most accomplished moments of my life up to that point. It was a big deal to me.

I'm curious to know if any of my readers can remember a moment in their life like that; a moment you have strived for, and it had materialized. It's a fantastic feeling. Isn't it?

The letter came sometime in the spring, and I think I was ready to order all the books the next day, but I didn't. The summer was spent in a deep state of migraine if I remember correctly and I wondered how I was going to manage school if the migraines continued. Somehow it all worked out.

The first week of school was not fun for me. Whether it was a virus, nerves, or the fact I had eaten a pound of chick peas, I don't know, but I had diarrhea. Oh boy! I could not eat nor drink any fluids without problems, and yet I had to be in class. There was another classmate with a similar problem. I have no idea how we started discussing this very personal problem, but we commiserated for the rest of the week and became fast friends.

The second thing to happen in the first week that sent me over the edge was being asked to write a paper. I was in a class with about thirty 21-35-year-olds and writing a paper was nothing for them. They could type fast. They new the computer program and editing and formatting. They had just finished undergrad schooling and were damn good at writing papers. I had not written a paper in twenty years. I had a panic attack. The paper was a compare and contrast paper. I didn't even know what that meant (Hello Lisa... compare and contrast!!!!).

I tell people I cried every day for eight weeks straight. And I did!! It was one of the scariest, and hardest things I ever did. I ended up going to the counseling center for help psychologically to get me through. When I dropped into the counselor's office six months later to say hi, he told me he NEVER thought I would make it. AT the time, he was so concerned for my mental health that he had me coming in twice a week.

I made the decision to drop neuroanatomy class and take the program at a slower pace. The program called for taking both neuroanatomy and clinical anatomy in the first semester. These classes entailed a ton of memorization which was just too much for my brain. In hindsight, I could have managed them both because neuroanatomy was not as difficult as I had imagined in the beginning. Oh well, all things for a reason. This put me six months behind the rest of my class and had me graduate with the upcoming class. In the end, I took classes with three different groups of graduating classes and got to know many people. I liked that.
